Richmond Dental and Medical Attends 106th Hinman Dental Meeting

On Saturday, March 24, Richmond Dental and Medical attended the 106th meeting of the Hinman Dental Society in Atlanta.

More than 20,000 professionals from all corners of the dental community descended on Atlanta’s Georgia World Congress Center for Hinman 2018 on March 22-24, including nearly 6,000 dentists, over 4,000 hygienists, nearly 3,000 assistants and 1,500 office staff, and more than 200 lab technicians. Attendees were offered 260 continuing dental education courses, with more than 65 speakers.

More than 3,200 exhibitors, including multiple Richmond Dental and Medical distributors, showcased their dental products and services for the diverse crowd of dental professionals on-hand at Hinman 2018.

An annual tradition since the early 20th century, the Thomas P. Hinman Dental meeting provides the dental community with the latest and most comprehensive continuing education available in dentistry today. The non-profit Hinman Dental Society produces the event and invests all excess revenue to fund scholarships for aspiring dentists, hygienists, and lab technicians around the country, as well as endowments at institutions fostering dental education. In the last 17 years, the Hinman Society has funded nearly $8.6 million in educational gifts.

Dr. Patrick Yancey III, general chairman for Hinman 2018, expressed the organization’s optimism for the future of dentistry. “We are excited about this year’s program and theme, which is ‘Experience Hinman: Invest in Your Future,” Dr. Yancey explained. “It emphasizes the importance of continuing dental education for everyone, from millennials just starting out to seasoned professionals looking to revitalize their practices.  We've created a quality continuing education program delivered by many new speakers as well as some of the profession's favorites."

Known for its unmatched social events, comprehensive technical education, and dash of Southern hospitality, Hinman 2018 certainly didn’t disappoint the 20,000 in attendance.
